Christensen pointed out
that there was also concern that use of the Acquisition
Fund for this purpose would deplete the Fund.
Fahey felt if there was an urgent need in the area of
parks and recreation, the City would find a way to fund
it. Fahey pointed out the City's efforts to redevelop
the Rice Street/Little Canada Road area, and the fact
that the Council is looking for creative sources of
funds to assist in that effort. Fahey felt that open
space along Round Lake would be a passive park use
given there would likely be trails and benches along
the lake.
2
