MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 12~ 1997 Pending acquisitions may address the residential properties in the area and Lakeside Apartments has indicated their support for the project as proposed. Morelan asked if the additional right-of-way is needed because of the City's streetscape project. The Administrator replied that that is correct, and also pointed out that he has informed the County that the alignment of the road would be the City~s best guess at this time, and may need to be altered in the future. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 97-2-37 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO INFORM RAMSEY COUNTY THAT LITTLE CANADA ROAD RECONSTRUCTION SHOULD BE DESIGNED SO THAT THE ROAD REALIGNMENT IS TOWARD THE SOUTH The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ASPEN GROVE The City Administrator reported that a neighborhood DRAINAGE meeting was held with Aspen Grove property owners abutting the ponding area. At that meeting, drainage improvements were discussed for the rear yards of these properties. It was pointed out to property owners that the cost of these improvements would need to be absorbed by the property owners. The property owners were unanimous in opposing the improvements since they felt the expenditure was not warranted. There were seven property owners present of the eleven affected property owners. The Administrator further reported that there may be some minor corrective actions which can be made as part of the Arcade Street improvement project. These will be looked at when the project is nearer to its start date. CLOSED Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and SESSION moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 97-2-38 - ADJOURNING INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE SCHULER LITIGATION 7
