MINUTES
C[TY COUNCIL
MARCH 26, 1997
The Administrator replied tliat those funds were fi~om a Watershed granY
program which may no longer be available. However, the City would
apply for any grant money which mi~ht Ue available.
Morelan asked if it was typical for the City to waive its permit fee in a
project such as this.
The Administrator replied tliat it w1s not. However, the Building
Inspector will be managing tlie projecC on a contractual basis, and that cost
has been factored into the project. This negates the concern for Buildin~
Official compensation from permit revenues.
The Building Official reported that some of the chan3es made in the
project include the removal of one fixture from each restroom, shortening
the buildin,~ by two feet, a change in the design of the roof which reduces
labor and lumber costs, and removal of an exhaust fan from the kitchen
area. The Building Official pointed out tliat there is some exterior stone
work which could be eliminated if the Council so desires. The Building
Official pointed out there is no co~~tingency item in the project, and
suggested the stonework could be left in as a contingency. The Council
reviewed the stonework in question and it was their consensus that it
remain ifpossible.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adopYion:
RESOI,UTIONNO. 97-3-74-APPROVING T/!E /3/DS FOR THE
b'POONER PARK.SFIEI,TER PIiOJICT AS.S'U13MITTED ]3Y THE
I3U17 ]~ING OFFICIAI
The foregoing resolution w1s duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (3) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
COUNTY The City Administrator reviewed the Public Works Director's memo
ROAD D regarding improvement options for County Road D between Edgerton
IMPROVEMENT and LaBore Road. It was the recommendation of the Director that the
OPTIONS County be asked to pltch the street, do some thin overlays in the worst
areas, sealcoat the streeY, and pave both shoulders. This option retains
County Road D on the County's improvement schedule for complete
reconstruction for the year 2002. If the City chose to have more extensive
maintenance wa k done, it would move reconstruction out to the year
2030. It was pointed out that tl~e City of Vadnais Heigl~ts has also opted
for the same improvemeuts reco~nmended by the Director.
13
