Resolution declared adopted.
TOBACCO Council reviewed the Administrative AssistanYs report dated August 7,
ORDINANCE 1997 regarding the State's new tobacco law which requires that city
ordinances contain at a minimum the State's re~ulations. Part of this law
provides for mandatory compliance checks of licensees. The North
Suburban Tobacco Compliance Project has offered their services in
conducting these compliance checks at an annual cost of approximately
$559.
LaValle suggested that the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department may do
compliance checks as part oftheir contract services. The City
Administrator reported that that was not his understanding, but that he
would clarify this with the Sheriffls Department.
