Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. STOP SIGNS The Council reviewed the reports from the Public Works Director, AT ALLAN AVE. City Engineer, and Ramsey County Sheriff's Department regarding AND stop signs at the intersection of Allan Avenue and DeSoto Street. DESOTO STR. The City Engineer reported that it was his opinion that once Allan Avenue is a tbrough street to Centerville Road, traff`ic on Allan Avenue should not be stopped at DeSoto Street, but allowed to flow straight throu~;h to Centerville Road. The Engineer felt there would be little Allan Avenue traffic turning onto DeSoto Street, and felt from a traffic control standpoint, it would be better to let this traff'ic flow smoothly through to Centerville Road without the stop si~;n. Scalze disagreed, pointing out that the residents of the area have requested a three-way stop at this intersection. Fahey felt that the Council should consider the recommendation of the City Engineer, and agreed that it was better not to unduly restricY traffic flow. Morelan agreed, stating that he preferred to take the minimal approach. Morelan felt the stop sign on DeSoto Street at Allan Avenue should remain. If there appears to be a problem with the intersection in the future, the matCer can be revisited.
