The architect for Arby's had verbally said
that they were proposing to use metal or canvas, and the Planner indicated
that his reco-lection was that the Planning Commission indicated that
either wou(d be satisfactory. There were comments at the September
Planning Commission meeting by a few of the Commissioners who
indicated they would prefer to see metal awnin~s.
Mr. Fahey introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption:
RES07, UTION NO. 97-10-254 - RECONSII)ERING THE APPROVAI,
OF THE U.SE OF METAL AWNINGS FOR THE AR73Y'S I3UII,DING
LOCATED ON RICE STREET
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (3) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen.
Nays (2) Morelan, Scalze. Morelan stated that he would be more
comfortable returning the matter to the Plannin~ Commission for further
review and comment to the Council before the Council takes action.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI,UTION NO. 97-1 D-255 -APPROl~ING THE USE OF EITHER
METAL OR CANVAS AWNINGS ON THE AR73Y'.S I3UILDING
I,OCATED ON RICE .STREET SU13.IECT TO APPROVAL OF THE
CITY PLANNER AS WELL A.S THE PI.ANNINC COMMISSION IF
THE TIMING IS SUCH THAT WOULD AI I.OW THE PLANNING
COMMISSION AN OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE MATTER
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (3) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen.
Nays (2) Morelan, Scalze.
