MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 29, 1997
Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was
closed.
Fahey asked if there was anyone objecting to the amount of his or her
assessment.
Mr. Battista pointed out that he has the highest assessment of all the
property owners involved.
The City Administrator explained the development deferral option to Mr.
Battista. If he chose to exercise this option, he would be able to defer
$7,925.02 in assessments with interest accruing until such time as the
property is developed. The Administrator pointed out that the Battista
assessment is at the level it is because he has the potential for two
developable lots.
Morelan pointed out that the other option would be to file a development
restriction on the property that would limit it to one lot. This would result
in the assessment for the second lot bein~ waived.
Morelan asked if granting deferrals or waivin~ assessments affects the
amounts of the other assessments. The Administrator replied that it did
not given the $45.00 per front foot cap.
It was noted in the record that there were no objections submitted to the
Council relative to the Arcade Street assessments.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RE.SOI.
