MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 26,1997
Fahey suggested specific outcomes be established for directors, such as to
attend three to four major networking activities in a year.
The Administrator reported that a lot of the goals established for
employees are self-defined, and a~reed that a betterjob could be done
quantifying these goals.
LaValle asked what amount of salary increase has been provided for the
Administrator in the 1998 Bud~et. It was pointed out that the Bud~et
provided for a 6% salary increase for 1998.
With regard to comments made about complaints, the Administrator felt
that to expect no complaints was um~ealistic. Morelan indicated that while
he does not expect zero complaints, he had been receiving no complaints
in the past. LaValle pointed out that code enforcement activity will
generate complaints, and suggested that perhaps zero complaints meant
that there was not enough code enforcement being done in the past.
With re~ard to comments about a sense of urgency being needed, the
Administrator felt that he has as strong a sense of urgency as anyone with
regard to the redevelopment project. The Administrator indicated that he
has a meeting scheduled for Monday with the City's Fiscal Advisor to
review the numbers.
In closing the Administrator expressed his appreciation for the relationship
he has with the Mayor and Council Members as well as staff. The
Administrator stated that he enjoyed his job and thanked the Mayor and
Councii Members for their support.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting adjourned at 8:40
P.M.
C:~~I \ ~V
Mich el I.
