MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17,1997 <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />INFORMA- The Mayor opened the Public Hearing to consider a text amendment to <br />TIONAL/ the Zoning Code as it relates to directional/informational signs. The <br />DIRECTIONAL Planning Commission has recommended approval of this text amendment. <br />SIGNS <br />The City Administrator pointed out that this text amendment is the result <br />of Knox Lumber's recent request an informational/directional sign that <br />exceeded the size allowed by Code. The text amendment allows the <br />Council to approve larger signs. The Code already gives the Council to <br />authority to approve more informational/directional signs than the limit of <br />four listed in the ordinance. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />KE,SOI. IITION NO. 97- I2-470 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 903. I10.13.1. h. (1) OF THE LITTLE CANADA MUNICIPAL <br />ZONING CODE AS IT RELATES TO <br />DIRECTIONAI/INFORMATIONAL SIGNS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />1998 BUDGET Mayor Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the 1998 Budget. It <br />was noted that the Council held a Truth In Taxation Hearing on December <br />2"`{ at which the 1998 Budget was presented in detail. <br />The City Administrator reported that for 1998, the City of Little Canada is <br />proposing a 0% net levy increase. Therefore, the City's share of taxes will <br />not increase, although some properties may see a tax increase as a result of <br />the State Legislature's change in class rates. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />
