MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 11, 1998 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council ofLittle Canada, Minnesota was held on the 11`~' day ofFebruary, <br />1998 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs . Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br /> City Attorney Mr. George Borer <br /> Planning Comm. Mr. Gene DeLonais <br /> Resident Mr. Don Gagne <br /> Venetian Inn Mr. Joe Vitale <br /> Venetian Inn Mr. Jim Vitale <br /> Deputy Clerk Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />RICE STREET/ The City Administrator reported that he has discussed the possibility of <br />LITTLE CANADA a theater development on the south side of Little Canada Road along Rice <br />ROAD Street with Kim Wise of Cinemark. The result of that discussion is that <br />REDEVELOP- Cinemark now prefers to locate the theater south of Little Canada Road, <br />MENT PROJECT and asked about the possibility of realigning Little Canada Road further to <br /> the north. In addition to the property south of Little Canada Road, <br /> Cinemark would be interested in the property at 93 West Little Canada <br /> Road, Dr. Allen's property, a portion of the bowling alley parkin~ lot, the <br /> Guerin property, and the old Budget Power site. Reali~ning Little Canada <br /> Road to the north would result in making these parcels contiguous. <br /> Cinemark has indicated that they would still be interested even if it were <br /> not possible to realign the road, however, realignment is their first <br /> preference. The Administrator pointed out that under this scenario, the <br /> bank and bowling alley would not have to be taken out. The <br /> Administrator indicated that the key is the bufferin~ of the theater <br /> development from Iona Lane and Lakeside Apartments. Wise indicated <br />
