MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 11, 1998
Fahey also pointed out that relocation within the project may be a
possibility for the businesses.
The Administrator again indicated that Wise has asked for a map showin~
the properties that would be involved, an indication from the County on
the possibility of relocating Little Canada Road further north, and
revisions to the financial feasibility numbers.
Morelan asked if 93 West Little Canada Road had to be redeveloped, or if
it were possible to fit it into the redevelopment project. LaValle pointed
out that this would be an expensive piece of property to redevelop. The
Administrator indicated that without this parcel, there would not be
enough land to entice Cinemark. Morelan suggested that Cinemark may
propose a very similar building, and it may be more feasible to retain 93
West Little Canada Road. The Administrator suggested that the Council
wait to see the site plan Cinemark develops. That site plan should be
completed a week or two after the City supplied the information requested
by Cinemark.
The Council discussed Chris Moarn's role in the project. Fahey reported
that Wise has indicated there may be a place for Moarn in building an
off'ice building as pait ofthe redevelopment project However, Wise
understands that the City will deal directly with Cinemark.
Gagne asked about the French flare that the redevelopment guide calls for.
It was pointed out that the City's architectural ~uidelines will apply to
development projects. However, the emphasis may be on the streetscape
improvements.
The Administrator reported that he would provide Cinemark with the
information they requested. Meetings will be scheduled with the various
property owners involved, and the consensus of the Council was to
schedule a workshop prior to the February 25`~' Council meeting to discuss
the status of the redevelopment project.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting was adjourned at
7:22 P.M.
' .,~ ..
