The Administrator reported that Mary has done an excellent job for
the City and is very customer-setvice oriented. However, the new position
is an excellent opportunity for her. Therefore, it was with regrets that the
Administrator recommended acceptance of Mary's resignation.
The City Administrator further indicated it is his feeling it would be
difficult to find someone who has the ability to do both code enforcement
and perform secretarial duties. Therefore, he is recommending that an
intern is hired on a temporary basis to do code enforcement for the
remainder of the season and payroll and clerical duties be filled with a
part-time secretarial position.
Morelan pointed out that Granley has made a lot of progress in the area of
code enforcement, and he is sure there is still a lot of progress to be made.
Morelan noted the Administrator's recommendation that the Intern be
hired for five or six months. Morelan indicated that he would not be
opposed to a longer period of time if that is workable.
The Administrator agreed that this could be considered, and pointed out
that the five or six month time period keeps the cost of the positions within
budget.
