SOCIETY ADDITION PRO.IECT A.S RECOMMENDEI) ]3Y THE ARCHITECT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (5) Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The Council discussed scheduling a groundbreaking ceremony for the new lddition. It was the consensus of the Council to hold the groundbreaking on Wednesday, April 22"`~, at 7 P.M. Staff was instructed to send ouY the appropriate invitations. P~RSONNEL The City Administrator reviewed a memo to the Council dated April 2, POLICY 1998 outlinin~ recommended revisions to the City's Personnel Policy. REVISIONS It was noted that most of these revisions are housekeeping in nature. These changes are as follows: *Changing references to Public Works Superintendent to Public Works Director to reflect a chan~e in the title of that position; *Providing the City Administrator with authority to extend the learning and evaluation period for probationary employees; ~`Clarifying that while Permanent Full-Time and Permanent Part-Time Employees can request hearings in the event of disciplinary actions, employees in the learning and evaluation period do not have this right; '~`Allowing the use of sick leave in 15-minute increments for doctor or dentist appointments; *Clarifying that health insurance coverage is provided for Permanent Full- Time Employees; *Adding the requirements that Permanent Full-Time Employees must take life insurance coverage as well as long-term disability coverage; The Administrator pointed out that two provisions which require discussion are the amount of travel allowance for out-of-town business 4
