MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />API2IL 22, 1998 <br />RESO7, UTION NO. 98-4-94 - INSTR UCTING THE CITY <br />ADMINI,STR,9TOR TO REVI.SE THE FUNDING GUIDELINES FOR <br />THB 10% FUND AI,I.OWING THE EXPENDITURE OF THESE <br />FUNDS ON PARKb" & XECREATION DEPARTMENT OPERATING <br />EXPBN.SES AND DESIGNATING SO % OF THE 10 % FUND FOR <br />.SUCFI PURPOSE.S' <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Morelan pointed out that the intention is not to reduce the levy by the <br />amount of 10% Funding for the Parks & Recreation Department, but <br />rather designating the equivalent levy amount to economic development. <br />The Council discussed the membership of the 10% Committee, and it was <br />the consensus of the Council that the citizens-at-large who have previously <br />served on the Committee be contacted to determine ifthey are still <br />interested in serving. Council discussed the other members comprising <br />the Committee and agreed to continue with the Committee membership as <br />outlined in the guidelines. <br />EXOTIC & The Council reviewed its agenda information relating to ordinances which <br />WILD ANIMAL other cities have adopted prohibiting the keeping of exotic and wild <br />ORDINANCE lnimals. It was noted that City staff periodically gets questions regarding <br />the keeping of these animals as pets. <br />Mr, Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />REb'07, UTION NO. 98-4-95 - INSTRUCTINC THE CITYATTORNEY <br />TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE AMENI)MENT PROffiI37TINC <br />TIIE KEEPINC OF EXOTIC AND WII,D ANIMAI,S A.S PETS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LIV~STOCK Council reviewed the City's ordinances pertaining to the keeping of <br />c& HORS~S livestock and horses within the City. It was the consensus of the Council <br />that staff should determine how surrounding cities address the issue of <br />non-domesticated animals within their ]imits. However.
