MINUT~S OF THE SP~CIAL M~ETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 29°i day of May, <br />1998 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />MAY 29, 1998 <br />Mayor Michael I. Pahey called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. and the <br />followin~ members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />ABS~NT <br />ALSO PRGSENT <br />Council Member <br />Deputy Clerk <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />CONDITIONAL The Council reviewed the application for Conditional Use Permit <br />US~ P~RMIT - to allow a four-unit townhome develo}~ment as part of the Vikin~; <br />VIKING ESTAT~S Estates plat. <br />Joanne Pardo, 211 Nature Way, expressed concern about the development, <br />asking specifically the distance that the townhomes would be from her <br />property, and indicating tl~at she did not want trees cleared from the site. <br />Jim Olson, deve(oper of Viking Estates, reported that he would be clearin~ <br />trees for the construction of the townhomes, but would retain as many <br />trees on the site as possible. Olson further reported that he is planning to <br />leave the arel south of the sewer easement in its natural state. Olson <br />pointed out the setbacks from the property line that he is required to meet <br />for the townhomes. <br />Fahey pointed out that some trees would need to be removed in order to <br />construct the buildings. Faliey further noted that Mr. Olson owns the <br />property and has the right to development it. <br />Scalze pointed out that before the Nature Way townhome development <br />was constructed, that area was heavily treed as well. Trees will have to be <br />removed in order to accommodate the construction. <br />
