MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 25, 1998 <br />of Little Canada Road. Fahey suggested that with the potential for a lot of <br />construction along Little Canada Road, perhaps the road reconstruction <br />should be delayed so that this construction traffic is not beating up a new <br />road. <br />Pedersen pointed outthat Chris Moarn's project would have access via <br />Rice Street as well as Little Canada Road. <br />Morelan asked if the Little Canada Road reconstruction project can wait a <br />year. The Administrator replied that the County has indicated they could <br />delay the project. <br />Pedersen asked if The Venetian was interested in locating in the project <br />Chris Moarn is considerin~. Joe Vitale replied that they have not made a <br />decision at this point. Vitale indicated that The Venetian cannot commit <br />to a building on the north while still maintaining ownership of the property <br />to the south. Vitale also indicated that Sherman Rutzick has indicated that <br />he will bring a proposal to the Council at their December 17°i meeting. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 98-11-279 -DIRECTING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTR,9TOR TO WRITE TO CINEMARK INFORMING THEM <br />THAT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY THE CITY IS CONSIDERING <br />OTHER DEVEI.OPMENT PROPOSALS FOR THE RICE <br />STREET/LITTLE CANADA ROAD REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Administrator asked if he should continue his marketing efforts with <br />other theater chains. It was the consensus of the Council that this effort <br />should be continued. <br />HIRING Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />PART-TIME <br />PUBLIC RESOI,UTION NO. 98-11-280 - APPROVING THE HIRING OF <br />W ORKS DEREK ANDERSON ON A PART-TIME 73ASIS FOR THE PUBLIC <br />STAFF WORKS DEPARTMENT AS RECOMMENnED 13Y THE CITY <br /> ADMINISTRATOR AND THE PU737.IC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />10 <br />
