MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 17, 1998
Morelan was unsure of how many people read the minutes in the legal
newspaper and pointed out that the print is small and difficult to read.
Fahey suggested that City staff put together a little analysis on this issue
and report to the Council at its next meeting. Fahey indicated that he
would be interested in finding out what other cities do, their costs, and
what specifically are the legal requirements with regard to minutes.
Morelan suggested that publishing a summary of the minutes may also be
a possibility.
Scalze pointed out that the City has published minutes for many years, and
stated that there would have to be a compelling financial reason to do
something different for her to support the change.
Pedersen asked if the staff is considerin~ a Web site for the City. The City
Administrator pointed out that the cost to keep a Web site up-to-date and
maintained would be high. It is a longer range goal at this point.
ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI, UTION NO. 98-12-298 - ADJOURNING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey.
Nays (0).
