MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 27, 1999
Scalze felt that the existing Street Lighting Policy had served the
City well without many major modifications. Scalze felt the
changes proposed were minor in nature.
Morelan pointed out that the distances separating street lights is
proposed to be chan~ed and asked the impact that this change
would have. Morelan asked how many street lights would need to
be added and what would the cost be.
Scalze did not feel the City would be retrofitted to conform to the
street li~ht policy.
Fahey stated that he was comfortable with the Policy as proposed
given the Policy was acceptable to the Public Works Director and
City Engineer.
Morelan suggested that if the City had liability for not properly
lighting areas, perhaps the City would need to be retrofitted.
Fahey suggested that City staff survey the existing lights in the
City and determine how what exists fits this proposed policy.
The City Administrator reported that staff is in the process of
completin~ this survey, and suggested that action on the Policy be
tabled until this survey information is available.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOI.
