MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 27, 1999
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (5) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PROVINCES The City Administrator reported that Briggs & Morgan expressed
42M LETTER some concern with the 42M letter for The Provinces, and
suggested that this matter be delayed until Briggs & Morgan can
resolve their concerns.
RICE STREET/ The City Administrator reported that former tenants of the Guerin
LITTLE property have questioned the allocation of costs by our relocation
CANADA specialist. The City Administrator supported the recommendation
ROAD of the relocation specialist given his familiarity with the applicable
REDEVELOP- regulations. The Council concurred.
MENT
With regard to the redevelopment of the northeast corner of Rice
Street and Little Canada Road, the Administrator reported that the
second developer has asked if the City is interested in their concept
for the property given that the Chris Moarn proposal is not
proceedin~. The Administrator noted that the second proposal did
not meet the criteria spelled out in the Redevelopment Guide. The
Administrator suggested that the developer may be willing to
modify their proposal.
The consensus of the Council was that if the developer can submit
something that meets the Redevelopment Guide, the City would be
interested in seeing a proposal.
Morelan asked about the C.I. Title proposal that Chris Moarn had
submitted. LaValle pointed out that Moarn had proposed a below-
market-rate rent. Pedersen felt that C.I. Title changed their
strategy.
STREET The Council reviewed the chan~es proposed to the City's Street
LIGHTING Lighting Policy. Morelan asked if it would be the City's intent to
POLICY go out and make changes to all the lights in the City so that each
and every street met the provisions of the Policy or if changes
would be made on a request basis. Morelan asked if there were
model street lighting ordinance available, and if so, if these have
been reviewed.
21
