MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 10, 1999
Morelan suggested that the City consider acquiring the bank
property given it will soon control the DeLonais property. Fahey
suggested that this was a possibility if a major project came along.
ADOPTION The Council reviewed the recommendation of the Buildin~ Of~"icial
OF STATE for adoption of the new State Building Code as well as the revised
BUILDING bui(ding permit fee schedule.
CODE
Scalze asked how many other cities have adopted the new code
and fee schedule. The City Administrator was not sure, but
indicated that he would ask the Building Official for this
information.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following ordinance and moved its
adoption:
ORDINANCE NO. 483 - ADOPTING THE STATE BUILDING
CODE AND REVISED FEE SCHEDULE AS
RECOMMENDED 73Y THE BUILDING OFFICIAL
The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze, Fahey.
Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted.
FRATTALONE Fahey reported that he received a call from a property owner with a
RECYCLING business near the Frattalone recycling operation. This property
OPERATION expressed concern about the effect that noise and dust from the
recycling operation has on adjacent businesses. Fahey suggested
that the City should have a hearing to consider input from adjacent
property owners on the recycling operation before the City
proceeds to allow this business to continue.
Morelan pointed out that if the City creates a special zoning
district, the formal public hearing process would be followed with
the matter considered by both the Planning Commission and the
City Council. Property owners within 350 feet ofthe Frattalone
property would be invited to the hearin~ and would have an
opportunity to provide their input.
Fahey suggested that before costs are incurred to go through the
formal hearing process, the City have a workshop or neighborhood
meeting with these property owners to obtain their input.
