MINUTES OF THE WORKSfIOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA FEBRUARY 24, 1999 Pursuant to due cali and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 24°i day of February, 1999 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member Mr. Michael I. Ms. Muriel Bianchi Ms. Kathy Smith Ms. Ginger Sackett-Glazer Ms. Karen Johnson Mr. Matt Anderson Mr. David Gray Parks & Rec Director Mr. Jim Morelan Public Works Dir. Mr. Gre~ Schroeder Code Enforcement Ms. Elizabeth Mursko Deputy Clerk Mrs . Kathy Glanzer The purpose of tonight's workshop is to conduct a joint meeting of the Council and the Parks & Recreation Commission. The first item discussed was trails, and Bianchi indicated that the Commission feels strongly about not only creating new trails, but also getting existing trails in good condition. As a result, a trail subcommittee of the Commission was formed which looked at trails as well as grants which were available for upgrading existing trails and constructing new trails. Smith reported that the sub-committee has identified two grants at this point. The first is the National Recreational Trail Fund Program, and the Council has on its agenda this evening a recommendation to authorize this ~rant application. The application is for the improvement of existing trails in Spooner Park. The application is for $94,000 in improvements. Given
