MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY ll, 1999 RE.SOI, UTION NO. 99-5-I l5 -AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO FWAI.IZE THE I37AGIN7 DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT b~UBJECT TO SDI3MISSION OF THE APPROPRIATE LETTERS OF CREDIT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITYADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED WITHNEGOTIATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE PRECISION TREE PROPERTY The fore~oin~ resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator pointed out that this project will allow the City to retain C.I.Title that is a growing business located in the City. C. I. Title will initially occupy 20,000 square feet of the building with the potential to expand into the remaining 10,000 square feet. Retainin~ this business will provide employment growth and opportunities in the City. Fahey noted that this project is to be located on Country Drive which is one of the areas that the City is focusing its redevelopment efforts at this time. Scalze noted the increased tax base which will result from the project. Pat Daulton, C. I. Title, reported that he began discussions with the City and various developers for a new site in Little Canada about a year and a half ago. Daulton indicated that it is because of the efforts of the City Administrator that this project has come to be and credited the Administrator with retaining this business in Little Canada. Daulton felt he had an excellent developer in Mr. Biagini, and indicated that C. I. Title will move forward and do some good for Little Canada. Dalton thanked the City Administrator for his efforts. 1999 STREET The Public Works Director reported that work began today on the IMPROVEMENTS Minnesota Avenue reconstruction project and should be finished by May 28°i. East Brooks will be~in on May 19'~', with a completion date of June I 1°i. Viking Drive will commence May 26°' with completion on July 16°'. The 1999 work on these roads will consist of reconstruction through the first lift ofbituminous. The second lift will be installed in 2000. The Director reported that the County has begun staking LaBore Road and the City is lowering gate valves. The milling of this road will begin shortly. Work will be confined to the road and gravel surface and should not extend further than that into the ri~ht-of-way. ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
