MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 10, 1999
required to keep 150 spare tires, and these tires are stored on the property.
Other required spare parts for the buses are also stored on the property.
Morelan asked about the dump trucks and boat that are stored on this site.
Mr. Rossow reported that the boat is his. It has just been winterized and
will be removed from the site. There are three dump trucks stored on his
properties as well as a road ~rader and two backhoes. This equipment is
needed as part of the business for both plowing and constnzction work.
Mr. Rossow reported that the equipment would be stored outside.
The Zonin~ Administrator indicated that given the equipment is stored
outside, it will have to have a designed location on the site plan for the
property.
Scalze asked about the construction trailer that is stored on the site. The
Zoning Administrator reported that this is a site trailer that leaves the site
and comes back. It is not being used for office space.
Rossow indicated that the trailer is being used as a storage building on the
site, but agreed that the trailer does leave the site and comes back. The
Zoning Administrator pointed out that a trailer that is used for additional
office space would require a Conditional Use Permit. However, a
construction trailer that moved in and out of a site is allowed.
LaValle asked about the 7 parkin~ spaces that are required for this site.
The Zoning Administrator reported that one parking space is required for
each of the site's three employees, and another one parking space is
needed for each 1,000 square feet of the building. Therefore, a total of 7
parking spaces are required.
LaValle asked about required parking for auto-related businesses. The
Zoning Administrator explained the parking requirements for auto-related
businesses that are much higher.
Morelan pointed out that the storage of the dump trucks and boat cannot
occur in the required front yard, and the storage area for this equipment
will have to be screened. Rossow indicated that he will put one dump
tnzck on each parcel as well as remove the boat from this property and
take it to his home.
LaValle asked if the trailer would be allowed to stay indefinitely. The
Zoning Administrator reported that since the trailer is classified as a
contractor's trailer, it could be stored on the site.
