<br />Ramsey County | Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan 91 <br />Date Type Deaths/ <br />Injuries <br />Description <br />January 15, <br />2009 <br />Cold / wind chill 2/0 Wind chill fell below -35° F. <br />December <br />10, 2010 <br />Winter storm 0/0 This was the biggest snowstorm since the Halloween <br />Blizzard of 1991, and the average snowfall in Ramsey <br />County was 18". <br />February 20, <br />2011 <br />Winter storm 0/0 Lightning was observed by several people, amidst a <br />storm that brought 12-16" of snow. <br />December <br />31, 2011 <br />Winter weather 0/0 Heavy, wet snow fell during the holiday, resulting in <br />numerous accidents across the county. <br />December 9, <br />2012 <br />Winter storm 0/0 12-16" of snow were reported across the county. <br />January 2014 Extreme cold/ <br />wind chill <br />0/0 Wind chill values dropped below -35° F for several <br />hours, during a prolonged period of cold. Propane <br />supplies in the region became very low, leading to <br />the Governor declaring a Peacetime State of <br />Emergency. Earlier in the month the Governor <br />canceled all public-school classes in the state due to <br />extreme wind chills. Extreme cold temperatures also affect the county nearly every year.
