must provide the County with the information listed above, plus a phone number and address <br />where comments and questions about the City’s budget may be directed. <br />The City is required to adopt the final property tax levy and certify the amount to Ramsey County <br />on or before December 28th of each year. This year, the meeting at which the budget and levy <br />will be discussed, and public input allowed will be held on December 3rd. <br />Mission Statement <br /> <br />The City of Little Canada adopted a mission statement in 2014 to guide the City Council and <br />staff in future policy decisions. The statement reads as follows: <br />We endeavor to provide high-quality, cost-effective services which meet the needs of our customers, <br />delivered in a manner consistent with a friendly and responsive small-town atmosphere. <br />We are committed to open communications, superior customer service, continuous <br />improvement and accountability to the public. <br />We strive to apply city ordinances, regulations and policies in a fair and consistent manner. <br />We work to enhance our unique identity, heritage, and quality of life. <br />We encourage city beautification, maintaining our natural environment, and pride in ownership. <br /> <br />We foster long term growth by proactively pursuing and assisting in high quality development <br />and redevelopment. <br />We recognize the benefits and responsibilities our metropolitan location bestows and pledge to <br />actively cooperate with other jurisdictions to address issues that impact our city and region. <br />Priorities and Initiatives <br /> <br />History of Strategic Planning <br />The City of Little Canada adopted its first Five-Year Strategic Plan in 2019. The goal of the <br />proposed strategic planning initiative was to establish a practical vision for the community and <br />identify the city's steps to achieve that vision. Following several strategic planning sessions, <br />interviews with Council members and Commission members, and feedback from staff, a five- <br />year strategic plan was presented to the City Council for adoption on September 11, 2019. Four <br />strategic directions shaping first-year imperatives and two-year results action items were <br />adopted as part of the strategic plan. <br /> <br />Those four Strategic Directions for the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan were: <br /> <br />• Enhancing Identity and Empowerment Community <br />• Maximize our Assets to Catalyze Development <br />• Mandating Action and Accountability <br />• Creating Operational Efficiency <br /> <br />2022 Strategic Plan Update <br />While the 2019 Strategic Plan was a five-year strategic plan, several action items within the <br />2019 Strategic Plan were accomplished.
