Resolution declared adopted.
The City Clerk asked the Council's position on continuing its policy of
waiving the City license fee for temporary liquor licenses, but charging the
permit fee for Exempt Gambling Permits. It was noted that Temporary
Liquor Licenses are typically requested by local non-profit organizations,
while F.,xempt Gambling Permit may not be limited to local non-profits.
The Council consensus is to continue the practice as described.
MELANCON The City Administrator reported that a title question came up on a portion
,PLAT or property in the Melaiicon Plat that was turned over to the City by the
State as part of the Viking Drive right-of-way. The Administrator noted
that this impacts the two parcels of land along Viking Drive that the City
is trying to sell. In order to resolve this title issue, it is the City Attorney's
position that a quiet title action is necessary. The Administrator briefly
described how a quiet title action works, and suggested that it may be a 90
day process. Once the title question is then cleared up, the Melancon Plat
can be finalized.
