CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEE FOR RENTAL HOUSING INSPECTION LICENSE AND <br /> ADOPTING RENTAL HOUSING EVALUATION GUIDELINES. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. FINDINGS AND RECITALS: <br /> (A) The City of Little Canada ("City") has established a program of licensing rental housing in <br /> the City, to ensure that housing units available for rent meet or exceed minimum safety and <br /> health standards. <br /> (B) The program relies in part on the inspection of rental housing units by qualified private <br /> inspectors to be hired by property owners, instead of inspectors employed by the City. <br /> (C) The City wishes to ensure that all inspectors abide by a standard code of procedures and <br /> abide by a code of ethics to ensure that the program serves its purpose of protecting the <br /> public. <br /> (D) The City will incur expenses in processing license applications and overseeing the licensed <br /> inspectors, and may defi•ay those costs by adoption of reasonable license fees. <br /> 2. LICENSE FEE IMPOSED. <br /> The City hereby imposes a fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) upon any application for a Rental <br /> Housing Inspector license from the City, and upon any application for annual renewal of said license. <br /> The fee is due for each inspector applying for a license or reuewal. <br /> 3. ADOPTION OF RENTAL HOUSING EVALUATION GUIDELINES. <br /> The City Council adopts the proposed "City of Little Canada Rental Housing Program Rental <br /> Housing Evaluator Guidelines," attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, as the statement of <br /> standards, terms and conditions applicable to every Rental Housing hrspector license issued by the <br /> City. <br /> 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
