The purpose of the PUD was allow
HOM Furniture to occupy the northern two-thirds of the building and allow the remaining
area to be occupied by specified retail uses which generate low traffic volumes. For
various reasons, the approved 2007 plan was never implemented.
HOM Furniture now wishes to pursue a new concept for furniture sales, buying more in
bulk to provide better values to customers. The concept requires a significant amount
of warehouse space such as that available upon the subject site.
The current proposal differs from that previously approved as follows:
1. A weekend furniture clearance center/warehouse entitled "Dock 86" is proposed
to occupy the northern two thirds of the building.
2. The exterior design differs from that previously proposed.
3. Allowed outdoor sales items (previously limited to patio sales) are to be
expanded.
1
