MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> NOVEMBER 9, 2009 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Planning <br /> Commissial of the City Cow~cil of Little Canada, Minnesota was <br /> convened on the 9°i day of November, 2009 in the Council Chambers of <br /> the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> Vice Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br /> following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br /> COMMISSION: Mr. Tom Duray <br /> Mr. Scott Barraclough <br /> Mr. Michael Everson <br /> Mr. Tom Fischer <br /> Mr. Jon IIall <br /> Mr. Chuck Pechmanu <br /> ABSENT: Mr. Dan Knudsen <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman <br /> City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br /> <br /> AMEND "the City Planner reported that Hom Furniture has made application <br /> PUD, for an Amendment to their PUD Permit for a retail furniture store, <br /> COMP a Comprehensive Sign Plan, and Architectural Review for a new concept <br /> SIGN PLAN, store they are proposing at 3201 Country Drive, the former Levitz <br /> ARCHI- building. The Planner noted that Hom Furniture received approval in <br /> TECTURAL 2007 for a store at this location that was to be patterned after their <br /> REVIEW - traditional business model. They are now before the Commission with <br /> 3201 a different concept for furniture sales, and the Planner noted that Hom <br /> COUNTRY DR.- wanted to clarify that this is not a clearance center. The Planner noted <br /> HOM his reference to clearance center in his report, atld Hom has requested that <br /> FURNITURE this be corrected. <br /> The Planner reviewed the new concept, reporting that the Dock 86 store <br /> will be open for retail sales Friday's through Sunday's. "fhe building will <br /> also operate as a warehouse facility and will be occupied and busy during <br /> the rest of the week. Retail sales will only occur on the weekends. <br /> The Planner noted that the Dock 86 concept includes an extensive amount <br /> of outdoor display. While the previous PUD Permit allowed outdoor <br /> display of patio furniture and a total of 30 days of tent sales, the revised <br /> proposal is requesting 120 days of outdoor display in two locations (only <br /> one to be used at a time), and an additional 30 days of tent sales. Two <br /> tents would be utilized as well as other methods to protect materials on <br /> <br />
