MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 16, 2009
Keis stated that increasing the retail space from 8,000 to 12,000 square
feet did not bother him. The City Planner indicated that there is more than
adequate parking to accommodate 12,000 square feet of retail use.
Wagner stated that there is enough parking if the entire building were used
for retail. He noted that Midwest Gymnastics takes up just over half the
building at 23,000 square feet. During the busiest time when parents are
picking up or dropping off children at Midwest Gymnastics there are
about 40 cars in the parking lot.
Blesener asked if the City should open the entire building to retail. The
City Planner recommended an interim step which would open the portion
of the building not occupied by Midwest Gymnastics to retail use.
Wagner indicated his agreement with that.
There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Montour, seconded by Blesener, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-12-290 -APPROVING ANAMENDMENT
TO PUD PERMIT TO ALLOW UP TO 20,000 SQUARE FEET FOR
RETAIL TENANTS AT 3225 COUNTRY DRIVE, GRABA
PROPERTIES BUILDING, SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS OUTLINED IN
HIS REPORT DATED DECEMBER 3, 2009 WHICH CONTAINS
THE APPROVED LISTING OF RETAIL USES, AND SUBJECT TO
COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0).
