acquisition and relocation costs. In addition to these costs, the Cities of Maplewood,
Roseville, and Little Canada have also been pursuing the burying of the electric power
lines along the Rice Street Corridor. These costs are estimated at $575,000.00, bringing
the total estimated project cost to $27.545 million dollars. Table 1 below outlines the
estimated cost breakout of the construction improvements.
As stated previously the project is a multiple agency project including Mn/DOT, Ramsey
County, and the Cities of Little Canada, Maplewood, and Roseville. While the total
project costs are relevant to this report, the more important factor for the City of Little
Canada is what portion of the total project cost is expected to be the responsibility of the
City of Little Canada. At this time the City of Little Canada portion of the project cost is
estimated at $637,500.00. That amount includes all construction, design, and
construction administration costs for the project. The City typically adds an additional
5% to the project cost to account for City overhead costs and the assessment process
associated with the project. Adding the 5% City overhead increases the overall project
cost to approximately $670,000.00. The County is still pursuing some additional funding
sources for the project and has indicated that if received those funds may be applied to
reduce the local community costs of the improvements.

XI. FINANCING
As stated above, the County is in the process of finalizing the funding sources for the
project which may include grants from Federal Surface Transportation (STP) funds and
the Department of Economic and Employment Development (DEED); Mn/DOT local
interchange, Trunk Highway Turnback, Bridge, and Cooperative Agreement funds; city
funds, and property owner assessments. Table 2 outlines the anticipated funding
sources for the project as a whole.
