KLM Engineering has performed all inspections on the tan]< since it was re-coated in
1991. Some members of KLM were involved with the re-coating while they were

employed with a different company. They have always done quality work and provided
detailed inspection reports. Theia• knowledge of the tank and their statewide reputation
are important considerations when selecting the proper contractor for the job. They
provided a quote of $3800 to perform the inspection. An additional $1200 would be
charged if a second day is necessary. While it is a higher figure than the other quotes
staff believes KL,M provided a more professional quote and a superior list of references
and statement of qualifications. They know the city's tank inside and out and staff
recommends we select KLM Engineering to perform the float down inspection of the
water tower at a cost of $3800 for the first day and $1200 for tlae second day if necessary.
Neither contractor was sure if a second day would be necessary. KLM felt that there was
a good chance it could be completed in one day due to the clean water we store and the
good condition of the exterior of the tower.
