Resolution declared adopted.
FLOODYLAIN Montour opened the Public Hearing to consider the Amendment and
ORDINANCE Update to the City's Floodplain District Ordinance, Section 916 of the
'Coning Code. The City Planner reported that the Planning Commission
reviewed the amendment and recommended approval subject to language
modification recommended by the DNR.
The Planner reported that the revised standards regulating the City's
Floodplain District are the result of the Federal Emergency Management
Association's (FEMA) update of their Flood Insurance Rate Maps
(FIRM). In order for Little Canada to remain participants in the national
Flood Insurance program (NFIP), the City must update/revise its existing
floodplain ordinance. "fhe City Planner reported that the original draft
ordinance was based on the State model That model requires the tracking
of improvements made to non-conforming structures in the Floodplain
since there is a limitation of improvements of up to 50% of the value of
non-conforming structures. The DNR has provided the City with an
updated model which eliminates this tracking language. The City Planner
recommended that the revised DNR language he adopted, and also
requested that the Council authorize summary publication of the
ordinance.
There was no one present wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Montour, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. McGraw introduced flee following resolution and moved its adoption:
12
