MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL

APRIL 14, 2010
Blesener noted that criteria was established at the time that Boss Road was
allowed at a 24 foot width. That criteria was that a road could have no
more than two lots, which is not the case for Bryan Street. Blesener
indicated that given the City is paying 70% of project costs, he feels the
road should be reconstructed to meet City standards.
McGraw stated that he thought the compromise the City Engineer came up
with was a good one, and expressed concern about setting a precedent.
McGraw noted the streets in Maplewood that have puking bays, and
indicated that they appear to work well. McGraw stated that he had an
uneasy feeling with the City setting standards and then manipulating data
to get to those standards.
Montour asked the length of Bryan Street proposed at 28 feet and the
length at 24 feet. The City Engineer indicated that the majority of the
street would be at 28 feet with 400 feet at 28 feet and 100-125 at 24 feet.
At this point in the meeting the Council asked if there were any further
comments on the proposed Iona Lane reconstruction. There were not.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2010-4-83 -AWARDING THE LOW BID OF
TOWER ASPHALT, INC.
