MINUTES

CITY COUNCIL

MAY 12, 2010
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
ADDITIONAL The City Administrator suggested that given the good pricing that the City
STREET WORK received for 2010 street work, the Council consider adding additional
FOR 2010 streets to the project scope. He noted that the City has the ability to add
up to 25% to the project total through a change order. The Administrator
suggested that given the phase out of contractors due to the economy, the
level of work for remaining contractors appears to be picking up.
Therefore, the City may not see such favorable bids in 2011. The
Administrator indicated that if the Council is agreeable, he and the City
Engineer would review the street work proposed for 2011 and determine
which streets could be expedited while meeting the 25% change order
limitation. The property owners along these streets would then be called
in for neighborhood meetings to determine their level of interest.
Blesener asked the impact on the City's Infrastructure Fund. The City
Administrator noted that if 2011 street work is moved up in the schedule,
the level of work for future years would decline.
The Council was in agreement with the City Administrator's
recommendation.
RICE STREET/ The City Administrator noted that Paul Abdo has requested that the
VIKING DRIVE Council schedule another workshop so that he can discuss his
WORKSHOP development proposal for the City's Rice Street/Viking Drive property.
Mr. Abdo could not attend this evenin~'s workshop and is requesting
another workshop prior to the May 26` Council meeting. "the City
Administrator suggested that there are other topics that he could add to the
workshop agenda.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2010-5-I26 - CALLING A WORKSHOP
MEETING FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 2G, 2010, AT 6:30 P.M. TO
DISCUSS THE ABDO REDEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL AS WELL
AS OTHER AGENDA ITEMS AS DETERMINED BY THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR PROVIDED THAT THE DATE AND TIME
WORK FOR MR. ABDO
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Kesolution declared adopted.
8
