Mayor Blesener opened the public hearing to consider the improvement

2010-18 of Ontario Road (from LaBore Road to cul-de-sac) by rehabilitated
ONTARIO bituminous road surface (mill and overlay) as well as repair/replacement
ROAll of damaged concrete cm•b and gutter sections.
The City Iingineer reported that the Ontario Koad project is being
proposed at this time for a few reasons. Those include the fact that the
City obtained competitive bids for the 2010 Mill & Overlay Projects,
which resulted in a cost savings for the City as well as individual property
owners. It is also expected that oil prices will rise in the future, which will
increase costs. Ontario Road has settlement of bituminous along curb
lines and cracking is becoming more severe. This project would have
been proposed for 2011 or 2012, but again given the competitive prices is
being proposed to move up in the schedule. 1"he 1ngineer also noted that
a mill and overlay is necessary now or in the near future to prolong the
sheet life and minimize higher improvement costs in the future.
The L;ngineer reviewed the proposed improvements which include the mill
and overlay and the re-establishment of a crown in the street. Minor curb
and gutter replace is proposed and some street patching will occur in the
