Hanson
City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman
City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer

LITTLE The City Administrator reported that the City Engineer has

CANADA prepared two new configurations for Little Canada Road east of

ROAD 35E relative to discussions for an upgraded streetscape along

RECON- Little Canada Road. The Administrator further noted that the County
FIGURATION maybe contemplating acold-in-place recycling project for this area of Little
Canada Road. Therefore, the City would coordinate a new road configuration
with the County as part of their project.
The City Engineer presented reconfiguration options to the Council. The first
involved narrowing Little Canada Road about 500 feet south of Centerville
Road from four lanes to two 11-foot driving lanes. This configuration would
also include a concrete walking path/sidewalk on the south side of the road.
This option eliminates on-street parking.
The City Engineer described the existing conditions and noted that there is on-
street parking usage in the area of St. John's Church extending east toward the
Old Fire Hall. The Engineer also noted the estimated location of property lines
using existing GIS information. There was some discussion about the accw•acy
of these property line locations. The City Administrator indicated that the goal
would be to utilize the existing right-of way for the road reconfiguration, thus
minimizing project costs and property impacts.
