FOR 2010 STREET & UTILITY IMPROVMENTS AS <br /> RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER; <br /> *APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER #2 FOR 2010 STREET & <br /> UTILITY IMPROVEMENTSAS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br /> ENGINEER; <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br /> Ayes (4). <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br /> AWARD B1D- The City Administrator reported that bids were opened at 11:00 a.m. today <br /> NE UTILITY for the installation of sanitary sewer to serve the Gervais Woods <br /> IMP., Development and the installation of water main along County Road B-2 <br /> PARK STREET, and Park Street. Eight bids were received ranging from $126,575.00 to <br /> COUNTY $210,016.35. The Engineer's estimate was $131,000.00. <br /> ROAD B-2 <br /> The City Adminishator reported that the City Engineer has been very <br /> aggressive in his estimating, and noted that the low bid is still $4,000 <br /> under that estimate. The Administrator pointed out that the competitive <br /> bidding climate continues, but indicated that he and the City Engineer do <br /> not think that will be the case much longer. <br /> The Administrator reported that the low bid was from Metro Utilities. <br /> This company has not done work in the City in the past. The Engineer has <br /> checked their references and finds that they have successfully completed <br /> work in other cities in the metro area. <br /> The Administrator noted that the County Road B-2 and Park Street water <br /> main work is being installed at the request of the Terrace 1leights Mobile <br /> home Park and is to be paid 100% by the Park. Therefore, bid award <br /> should be contingent upon their signing a Waiver of Right to Appeal <br /> Special Assessment. <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
