<br /> MINUTES <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> AUGUST 11, 2010 <br /> Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2010-8-184 -AWARDING THE LOW BID OF <br /> METRO UTILITIES, INC. IN TIIEAMOUNT OF $126,575.00 FOR <br /> 2010 NORTHEAST UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS AND <br /> INSTALLATION OF WATER MAIN ALONG COUNTY ROAD B-2 <br /> AND PARK STREET SUBJECT TO TERRACE HEIGHTS <br /> MOBILEHOME PARK SIGNING A WAIVER OF RIGHT TO <br /> APPEAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE WATER MAIN, STREET AND <br /> WATER SERVICE WORK <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br /> Ayes (4). <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br /> WEST The City Administrator reported that a DNR Permit has been obtained <br /> SAVAGE for spraying of the lily pads on West Savage Lake. That permit includes <br /> LAKE spraying to obtain an open area around the island and channels connecting <br /> properties to the open area. However, the permit excludes ffve properties <br /> from having a channel. The Administrator indicated that he will discuss <br /> this with the DNR and likely appeal the restriction. <br /> Blesener asked if Mr. Day had been contacted with regard to coordination <br /> of the spraying effort. The Administrator indicated that he has sent an <br /> email to Mr. Day and asked to set up a meeting to coordinate the spraying <br /> approach. <br /> MGM The City Clerk reported that MGM Liquor, 2680 Rice Street, is requesting <br /> LIQUOR to relocate Their liquor store to 2768 Rice Street. This relocation will put <br /> OFF-SALE the MGM Liquor Store in very close proximity to the Ticrncy's Liquor <br /> LIQUOR Store. The Clerk noted that there is noting in the State Statute nor City <br /> LICENSE Code that would preclude this, given there are no minimum distance <br /> requirements that would pertain. <br /> Mike Helling, MGM Liquor, indicated that he would like to maintain his <br /> business on Rice Sheet. He has been unable to negotiate a satisfactory <br /> lease renewal in his current location. He has also looked at other locations <br /> along Rice Street and has been unable to negotiate the needed space. <br /> Helling reported that he is proposing to locate in the Bill Mellgren <br /> building and has negotiated a rent substantially below what he is currently <br /> paying. Helling also indicated that he would be entering into a 10-year <br /> lease if the Council approved the liquor license transfer. <br /> 3 <br /> <br />
