MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> LITTLE CANADA, MINNF.,SOTA <br /> August 5, 2010 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br /> Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 5°i day of August, <br /> 2010, in the council chambers of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br /> said city. <br /> Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br /> the commission were present: <br /> MEMBERS PRESEN'T': Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br /> Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br /> Ms. Patti Sullivan <br /> Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br /> Mr. Kevin Steinert <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. "fom Maida <br /> Mr. Dan Slain <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br /> Mr. James Morelan, Park & Recreation Director <br /> Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br /> <br /> MINUTES Steinwall made a motion to accept the minutes from the June 3, 2010 meeting, seconded by <br /> Sullivan. Motion carried. <br /> NEW <br /> BUSINESS Guest Jay Backer from the Shoreview Sierra Club Green Community was introduced. He is <br /> interested in the North/South'I'rail that will eventually extend from the Mississippi River to <br /> the Shoreview area. <br /> Sanders reported that the routes for the trail have been laid out and members of the <br /> committee have recommended their preferred route. The current Troutbrootc Trail extends <br /> from the Mississippi River on the south end to McCarron's Lake. "I"his portion is mostly <br /> completed. It will then extend from the water plant north through Maplewood and Little <br /> Canada. It will go up Country Drivc or across Highway 694 to the Vadnais Regional Park. <br /> Sanders explained that they will put together the ostimated costs to complete the trail project. <br /> This should be finished within the next couple of months. They will also talk again to the <br /> various groups involved with completing the trail for additional input and suggestions. <br /> Page I of 4 <br /> <br />
