He stated that if the vehicles
move to Desoto, that road is wider and there are areas marked as no parking on that street as well. He
stated that all residents on Costa, except one, were in support of this change.
Kwapick asked when the signs would be installed. The Public Works Director anticipated that they
would receive the signs in one or two weeks and then would get them posted. He confirmed that staff
would place flyers on the vehicles, making them aware of the coming change.
Mayor Fischer recognized that if Costa is marked as no parking, the vehicles will likely move to
Desoto. He asked how long a car can be parked on a street without moving. The Public Works
Director replied that if the vehicle is licensed and is not leaking any fluids, it can be there for a few
weeks. Resolution declared adopted.
CONSIDER NO PARKING ON CONDIT STREET
The Public Works Director provided background information on Condit Street, which is narrow and
makes it difficult for two vehicles to pass if a vehicle is parked on the side of the street. He stated that
staff recommends that the road be posted no parking anytime. He commented that staff spoke with a
local business owner and the manufactured home park, noting that both properties support the change.
Mayor Fischer asked and received confirmation that there has not been any negative feedback from the
residents.
Gutierrez stated that her original concern was that perhaps people could not afford to pay for parking at
the adjacent apartment building, and she was happy to hear that parking there is free. She noted that
there is plenty of space within that parking lot.
Malone asked if the other perpendicular streets allow parking. The Public Works Director confirmed
3
