City staff has inspected this property on multiple occasions dating <br /> back to May 20, 2010. Following each inspection, city staff has informed both the <br /> property owner and renters what violations have existed on the property. On July 27, <br /> 2010, city staff did issue citations Co both the owner and renters for nuisance violations <br /> that were nol corrected after several notices. (Staff has since been informed that this <br /> property was lost in foreclosure. As a result, the former owner is no longer responsible <br /> for said property and staff will no longer be prosecuting his citation.) <br /> On September 22, 2010, city staff hand delivered a final notice to the property owner and <br /> renters requesting the tires and juulddebris that were present on the property be removed <br /> by noon on Friday, October 1, 2010 or staff' would recommend abatement of the <br /> nuisance. On October 1"~ Mr. and Mrs. Muuo (renters) came into city offices and spoke <br /> with Joe( Ilansou to request additional time for cleanup of the property. They indicated <br /> that they were working to remove the tires and had arrangements to get the materials that <br /> ltad been dumped iu the reat• yard hauled away. City staff agreed to allow additional <br /> time, but informed the renters no further extensions would be granted. <br /> Joel and I went out to property today to verify cleanup of the property had been <br /> completed. Staff witnessed junk/debris in the rear yard as well as tires still present alGng <br /> side the garage. At this time, city staff is recommending the City Council authorize <br /> staff to proceed with the abatement actimt at 3046 Labore Road. <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
