MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 27, 2010 CONSENT Ms. Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: AGENDA RESOLUTION NO. 2010-10-268 -APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: *APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; *CALL FOR WORKSHOP MEETING FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2010 AT 6:30 P.M. TO REVIEW SCOPE OF SERVICES FOR PLANNING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS; *AUTHORIZEAPPLICATION FOR SCORE GRANT; The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FIRE Don Smiley, Little Canada Fire Chief, appeared before the Council to DEPT. request approval for two building improvements the Fire Department is BUILDING planning for the Fire Station. This approval is required as part of the lease IMPROVEMENTS that the Department has with the City. The first improvement proposed is for the enclosing of some open space to make a conference room at the Fire Station. 'fhe second is for construction of a monument sign at the Fire Station, the design of which is similar to the momm~ent sign at the City Center. The Chief indicated that the sign would have an electronic reader board that would be used to promote fire safety awareness, community messages, etc. The Chief reported that funding for these improvements would come from the Fire Department's charitable gambling funds and wilt require no taxpayer dollars. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2010-10-269 -APPROVING THE FIRE STATION BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS AS PROPOSED BY THE LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THESE IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE PAID FOR FROM TIIE DEPARTMENT'S CHARITABLE GAMBLING PROCEEDS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Rosolution declared adopted. 10
