MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 10, 2010
The Council discussed the Lensing request and indicated support for
reimbursing the full cost of the additional pathway replacement. Montour
noted that there appears to have been some miscommunications on both
ends, and commended Mr. Lensing for his on -going maintenance of the
City's pathway fence. Montour noted that the situation is unique in that a
public pathway directly abuts a private driveway and agreed that a
uniform appearance was preferable. Blesener noted that it would have
been preferable to have a separation between the driveway and the path,
but given the limited right -of -way in this area, that is not possible.
Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -11 -278 APPROVING THE
REIMBURSEMENT OF MR. JON LENSING FOR PATHWAY
REPLACEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $684.00
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Lensing asked if the split rail fence would be extended and whether or not
the pathway will be made wider. The Administrator indicated that given
the very tight right -of -way, it appears that it will not be possible to widen
the path. However, there are no immediate plans for this project. Lensing
noted that the split rail fence is a help in keeping people on the path.
QUOTE FOR The City Administrator reported that as part of the County Road B -2 turn
MANUFAC lane expansion, the City purchased four manufactured homes in Terrace
TURED Park Mobilehome Court. These homes were in the area needed for the
HOME additional road right -of -way. Two of the homes were relocated and the
DEMOLITION other two are in very poor condition and need to be demolished. The
Administrator reported that he obtained a quote from Soft Touch
Demolition in the amount of $5,000 for the demolition of the homes on
Lots A and B. The cost to haul the homes to a landfill would be $8,500.
The Administrator reported that the Soft Touch quote includes proper
asbestos handling and notice requirements.
Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -11 -279 AWARDING THE QUOTE OF
SOFT TOUCH DEMOLITION IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000 FOR
THE DEMOLITION OFMANUFACTURED HOMES ON LOTS A
10
