Last year the deductible was increased <br />from $2,500 to $10,000 per occurrence. This was based on historically low claims experience <br />and the savings produced by the higher deductible. Please see prior discussions attached. <br />Unfortunately, during 2010 the City did incur a worker's compensation claim in excess of <br />$10,000 (Murphy's Law!). Despite this event, staff still feels it is reasonable to maintain the <br />$10,000 deductible option. <br />This option resulted in a premium credit of $3,528 for 2010 and is expected to be similar in <br />amount for 2011.
