MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 27, 2011 <br />"Develop Fee Schedule for Fire Re- inspections" was next reviewed. <br />The Administrator reported that staff is obtaining similar fee schedules <br />from other cities and will report to the Council. <br />"Develop Long -Term Financial Plan that Maintains Present Levels of <br />Public Service" was reviewed. The Administrator reported that the <br />Finance Director will put together a report and present it to the Council at <br />an upcoming workshop. <br />The Council reviewed the action plan for "Market the Rice <br />Street /Viking Drive /Highway 36 Site ". It was the consensus of the to <br />put a for sale sign on the property once the bridge project is complete. <br />The Administrator suggested that at an upcoming workshop meeting the <br />Council establish goals for the development of this property. <br />The Council reviewed the action plan for "Upgrade Web Site /Social <br />Media ". The Administrator noted that the League of MN Cities and <br />ICMA have been putting out information on the topic of social media, and <br />noted that there are some liability issues that the City should be concerned <br />with. The Administrator stated that he would continue to research the <br />topic of social media and will prepare a report for the Council. <br />The Administrator presented some statistics on the use of the City's web <br />site for the past two month. The Administrator noted that the site is being <br />used for a variety of information needs. <br />Deis asked if there were grants available for costs associated with <br />expanding into social media. The Administrator was not sure noting that <br />funding for government grants have become tighter and tighter. <br />Foundations may be a more likely source. <br />The Council reviewed the action plan for "Review City's Reserve Policy <br />— Dependence on LGA /MVHC to be Zero ". The Council was in <br />agreement with the action plan. "Develop Long -Term Strategic Plan <br />for Fire Fighting Services" was reviewed, and Council agreed with the <br />action plan as presented. Next reviewed was "Evaluate Renewal <br />Options for Organized Collection Contract" which the Administrator <br />noted was underway, as is the final action plan for "Conduct City <br />Survey ". <br />LIQUOR The City Clerk reviewed her report dated April 21, 2011 summarizing <br />LICENSE proposed amendments to the City's Liquor Ordinance, some of which <br />ORDINANCE are substantive in nature and others merely housekeeping.
