Terrence R. Peterson
3000 Payne Avenue North
Little Canada, MN 55117
November 28, 2010
The City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road East
Little Canada, MN 55117
RE: Interest in Parks and Recreation Commission
Dear Sir or Madam:
I have an interest in serving the City of Little Canada on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
I am a nearly twenty year resident of Little Canada. I am an attorney by trade.
For the past twelve years I have served as an adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America in Pack and Troop 462
of Little Canada. I have served as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Cub Scout Pack Committee Chair, Boy Scout Committee
Member, Troop Assistant Scoutmaster, and Troop 462 Scoutmaster.
I have also served the Scouts as the Vice Chair of the Northwest District, which encompasses Little Canada. I have
served on the Northern Star Council Camping Committee for the last eight years, serving a tenure as chair and
currently serving, for the last three years, as vice chair. The Northern Star Council Camping Committee oversees
policy, promotion of, and program of seven Scouting Camps (nearly 8,000 acres) within Minnesota and Wisconsin. I
believe my involvement in the oversight of those properties would bring unique experience to the Parks and
Recreation Commission.
I have also been appointed as a Central Region (encompassing the upper Midwest) Boy Scout Camp Inspector and
have served in that capacity for the past four years. As an inspector I am charged with the inspection of Boy Scout
camps to insure compliance with BSA national standards and state and local laws and ordinances.
I have greatly enjoyed living in Little Canada and raising our three children inrtris remarkable city. I feel it is time for
me to give back to the community and would proudly serve,my city on the Pars and Recreation Commission if you
see fit to make that appointment. /
Thank you for you consideration.
Very 4ly,
TeIntro‘ttP
Cell: 612 2 73712
Work: 763 -427 -8888
12
