The volleyball and kittenball coordinator(s) will be posting updated rules on the LCRA website,
and reminding teams periodically before the tournaments, that any participants playing in either
tournament must be at least 18 years of age. Additionally, new rules will be posted stating that
any participants under the age of 21 that are seen drinking an alcoholic beverage will be
disqualified from the tournament immediately, and will not he allowed to participate again until
(s)he reaches 21 years of age.
At the end of the day, our biggest concern at Canadian Days is that all attendees have a safe and
enjoyable time while celebrating our community together. We would like the opportunity to
implement our new and improved ideas and policies this year. We plan to re- evaluate all of our
policies and procedures each year, as we have done in the past, to ensure that we are always
improving. We want to continue to be a part of this celebration of our city and will do our part to
keep the event safe for all.
We would like to thank the members of the city council that graciously agreed to meet with us to
discuss the new safety plan and offer their input, ideas, and feedback. We have implemented
these ideas into our new safety plan and believe that it will ensure a positive outcome at this
year's Canadian Days Celebration. We look forward to discussing this information and any
additional questions or concerns you may have at the upcoming city council meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
The Little Canada Recreation Association Board of Directors
11
