MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 20, 2011 <br />JUNE 16, 2011 FOR ALL THREE EVENTS AS WOULD BE <br />PRACTICAL: <br />• JULY 29 -31, 2011 - CANADIAN DAYS VOLLEYBALL AND <br />KITTENBALL TOURNAMENT; <br />• SEPTEMBER 17, 2011- KICKBALL TOURNAMENT; <br />® OCTOBER 28, 2011- HALLOWEEN DANCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ASIAN Bill Burrows, assisting Asian Massage, appeared before the Council. <br />MASSAGE Keis asked about relocation plans for Yan Liu, Fang Chengkooken, and <br />Guangxiu Gao. Burrows reported that the individuals are currently in <br />transition and trying to find local residences. Two are seeking to rent and <br />share an apartment in Little Canada. The third resides in Edina. Blesener <br />indicated that once local addresses are obtained, the City should be <br />updated. <br />The City Clerk reported that Sheriff's Department Background cheeks <br />have been run on all three applicants and are satisfactory. The Clerk <br />indicated that staff recommends approval of the licenses as requested, <br />subject to compliance with the City Code, noting specifically that there <br />can only be three licensed massage therapists at the business. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -6 -121— APPROVING A MASSAGE <br />THERAPY BUSINESS LICENSE FOR YAN LIU, ASIAN MASSAGE, <br />2864 MIDDLE STREET AS WELL AS MASSAGE THERAPIST <br />LICENSES FOR YAN LIU, FANG CHENGKOOKEN, AND <br />GUANGXIO GAO TO PRACTICE AT ASIAN MASSAGE, 2864 <br />MIDDLE STREET WITH LICENSES TO RUN THROUGH JUNE 30, <br />2012 SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CITY CODE <br />REQUIREMENTS AND SUBJECT TO THE MASSAGE <br />THERAPISTS PROVIDING THE CITY WITH LOCAL ADDRESS <br />INFORMATION ONCE THEY RELOCATE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
