MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 13, 2011 <br />CALL The City Administrator noted that a joint workshop of the Council and <br />WORKSHOP the City Administrator was held earlier this spring. At that time additional <br />WITH PARKS information was needed relative to the Trout Brook Trail Project. That <br />& REC information has now been obtained, and the Administrator recommended <br />COMMISSION that another workshop be scheduled with the Commission. In addition to <br />the Trout Brook Trail, the Administrator provided a listing of additional <br />agenda topics as outlined in his memo dated July 8, 2011. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -7 -135 — CALLING A JOINT WORKSHOP <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND PARKS & RECREATION <br />COMMISSION FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2011 AT 6:00 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STATE The City Administrator reported that as a result of the State shut down, <br />SHUT DOWN the prison crew being utilized by MN DOT was available, so the City has <br />IMPACTS been utilizing them to paint fire hydrants. <br />Another impact of the shut down is that while the State issued the <br />temporary liquor license for the Canadian Days Committee for the annual <br />celebration, the Little Canada Recreation Association's license was not <br />issued. The two organizations are working in a cooperative manner on <br />this issue. The Administrator indicated that the two organizations have <br />requested that he draft an agreement outlining the specifics of liquor sales <br />at Canadian Days Celebration specific to the LCRA events. <br />The Administrator also reported that the DNR Permit for the spraying of <br />West Savage was not issued prior to the shut down. But even if it had <br />been issued, permits are suspended given there are no inspectors available. <br />With regard to the County's Little Canada Road project west of the <br />freeway, the project has been delayed as the County needs MN DOT to <br />close one of the freeway ramps during the project. The Rice <br />Street /H.ighway 36 bridge project has also been delayed. <br />The Administrator reported that Local Government Aids will be paid <br />during the shut down. He also noted that there are no impacts to electrical <br />inspections. <br />11 <br />
